Starting Your Morning Right For A Super Productive Day
July 23, 2018
How you start your day is the largest factor in how productive you will be for the next 24 hours. Durring the week, I try my best to always start my day setting myself up for success. Over the years I've gathered by favorite tips on how to set yourself up for success eveyday.
Dress To Impress //
Whether you work from home or out in public, I think it’s important to dress your best each day. I know this can mean different things depending on if your workplace has a dress code, but whether is does or does not make sure that you feel good in what you’re wearing. I always find that I’m able to work better when what I’m wearing is comfortable and makes me feel confident. Whatever you have on your to-do list for the day, just make sure you get up, get dressed in something that makes you feel awesome, and get to work.
Write Up A To-Do List //
One thing I always make sure to do at the start of my day is to write up a to-do list. My brain is constantly going a million miles a minute and it’s very easy for me to forget things, so jotting down what needs to get done each day helps me stay productive as well as organized. You can do this the old fashioned way on paper or by keeping a little checklist on your phone. Either way, get into the habit of writing up a list of to-do’s each morning and I promise you’ll notice a vast improvement in your daily productivity.
Tackle What You Hate //
No, this is not advice for how to handle the haters. Instead, my advice here is to tackle the tasks that you hate doing first. For me, it’s my inbox. I’m so bad at staying caught up with emails, and because of that my inbox can sometimes be an absolute disaster. What I like to do is tackle my inbox first thing instead of pushing it off throughout the day. This way, I’m able to get it checked off my list right away and will feel more productive right off that bat, which always encourages me to get even more work done for the day
Don’t Skip The Small Things //
It can be easy to get caught up in the rush of early mornings, but you definitely don’t want to skip out on the small stuff. Things like washing your face, eating a good breakfast, and preparing for the day may not sound like essentials, but taking the time to do them every morning really does help make the day more productive.
