If I'm not throwing together my own recipe it's great to have a few cookbooks laying around.
Now, I do love Pintrest but I'm a hazard when it comes to electronics in the kitchen and have previously been known to drop my phone in the sink while trying to look at a Pintrest recipe. My solution is cookbooks, and not all my favorite cookbooks are vegan but honestly the top 5 are.
It doesn't matter if your motivation is for health, animal-welfare or environmental reasons, Veganism is growing at a huge rate and it is easier than ever to avoid animal products. Whatever your motivation, it definitely helps to have some epic and inspiring not breakable cook books to hand!
Here are some vegan cookbooks that I personally love, constantly revisit and thoroughly recommend for a healthy dose of plant-powered inspiration…
For those of you who struggle to do the whole ‘salad’ thing, this book is for you. It’s suitable for those of you whose cooking skills are #basic right up to those who like a kitchen challenge. This book is full of sass and hilariously written information and recipes.
The Oh She Glows Cookbook
This cookbook my go to when I'm having people over. This is the type of book that will become super dirty and full of page markers. An absolute classic and must-buy for those of you who are looking to get an arsenal of practiced recipes up your sleeve so you are ready to impress!
The book delivers on its promise of fast vegan meals, with just a few ingredients that taste good. In particular the vegan quesadilla and chilled soba salads are awesome. In addition to simple recipes, there is a guide to smart shopping and building the perfect pantry on a budget, so you can prevent those moments of being an ingredient or two short.
Vegan for Everybody
The book itself is beautiful. I think there’s a picture for every recipe and in my opinion that’s a MUST for a cookbook, and especially a VEGAN cookbook. When someone like me is trying a new way of eating it really helps to be able to see what the finished product can/will look like for inspiration and motivation.
Forks Over Knives
There are so many great recipes and easy recipes. I have been using this book for a while now, and always find new recipes to try with cheap ingredients. I would recommend this book to anyone, even if not vegan. This book is just a great book to have with helpful tips for your health in general in the beginning.
These are my current favorites and I am always looking for new cookbooks, my goal is to one day have a book shelf in my kitchen with everyone's favorites. Let me know below what your favorite cook book is!
